Melville Whittaker (b.1941)

1955/56 Art College Entrance Exam Pass Major Cities Youth Exhibition Tour inc.  Hulton Gallery, London: portraiture.
1956 Entered the Printing Trade as an apprenticed artist working  on postcards, brochures, film company advertising, film, stills, posters, books, magazines. Process Manager.
 Trained in: page layout design, colour separation, camera operation, etching, proofing and printing plate correction, Revisionist on high speed print for proof correction. Later responsibilities include assisting the Group Technical Advisor in Research and Development on colour registration problems in page assembly and high speed press application.
1970s-mid 80s Austin Hayes Gallery Exhibition, York.
1987 Scarborough Technical College A Level Art (Grade B) and College Certificate.
1991 & 1997 Print Exhibition at Sewerby Hall, Bridlington.
1992   Exhibition, Sewerby Hall, Bridlington: Marine water-colours and oils.

1994 Employed by North Yorkshire County Council Adult Education Service as a Community Tutor teaching all aspects of drawing, oil and English water-colour.
